TVONE

tvOne awalnya didirikan dengan nama Pasaraya TV (PRTV, dengan nama perusahaan PT Pasaraya Media Karya). Sesuai namanya, PRTV memiliki keterikatan dengan Pasaraya, yaitu sebuah perusahaan ritel yang dimiliki oleh ALatief Corporation (milik Abdul Latief). PRTV awalnya diharapkan Latief bisa menjadi media promosi bagi Pasaraya. Khusus perusahaannya sendiri, PT Pasaraya Media Karya sebenarnya sudah didirikan sejak 15 Oktober 1991, dan awalnya merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang penerbitan majalah promosi Pasaraya bernama Pasaraya Belanja, akan tetapi kemudian menjadi badan usaha/hukum dari televisi baru ini. PRTV mendapat izin siaran nasionalnya bernomor No. 799/MP/PM/1999 dari Departemen Penerangan pada 25 Oktober 1999.
